Ebay may provide you with lifelong customers.
How are you going about this?
It's as easy as putting together a newsletter to sell in addition to your eBay ® listings.
I'll go over a few of the uses for newsletters in this post, including how to:Convert Browsers on eBay Into BuyersConvert eBay Users Into Lifelong AdvocatesThere will be two parts to this topic. Look out for my upcoming post (lesson) that goes over the fundamentals of designing a successful newsletter. With a few simple steps, creating a newsletter can be quite straightforward!
1. Convert Browsers on eBay into Buyers
Keep in mind that you need to do more than just convert your eBay ® "browsers" into customers. Many eBay ® sellers believe they won't sell anything to a "browser" at all if they don't have what they're looking for. That, however, is not at all accurate.
The hardest step, bringing the "browser" to your listings, is already behind you. Ensuring that every visit matters is crucial. When someone visits one of your listings, you need to make sure they stay there until you've done everything you can to obtain their contact information, including name and email, in an effort to attempt and turn them into a potential customer.
Suppose you are a home décor goods seller and someone comes to your listings in search of a specific window treatment. The visitor looks at your "other listed items" in addition to the auction to which they were directed. The visitor in question is unable to locate the thing they are searching for. So, he/she withdraws from your auctions and you are never going to have the opportunity to work with them again? False!
Creating an invitation to your About Me website that says something like, "Click here to visit my About Me page and receive free, weekly tips to help you redecorate your home like a professional designer for half the cost," would be a very easy way to greet each visitor.
When a visitor reaches your About Me page, you may provide them clear directions on how to sign up for your weekly newsletter so they can receive the advice they need.
Doesn't that sound simple?
It is, and you can put this up and start gathering useful email addresses and names in a matter of minutes.
2. Converting eBay Users Into Lifelong Advocates
Even though it's so simple, the eBay ® business tends to neglect this. If eBay ® is your company, you must handle it as such. Similar to any "normal" firm, you strive to achieve excellence in every facet of the transaction to guarantee your client's loyalty. Online, though, it's quite simple to become lost in the shuffle.
It's important to maintain contact with customers once you've acquired them so that you can be certain that they will come to you first if they decide to make another purchase on eBay ®.
Some auction platforms, like Vendio, provide excellent client management tools. A "join my mailing list" link is a simple addition to any email you send after a transaction. Keep in mind that once you sell to an eBay consumer, they become your client, and you can email them outside of eBay ®.
Offers like "Join my monthly newsletter and receive updates on my product line including notification of newly listed items, and member discounts" are what you want to put in front of them.
By doing this, you can maintain contact with former clients and be at the forefront of their minds. Additionally, it provides you with the chance to regularly invite them to your auction listings. However, keep in mind that you must serve your clients fairly. To make people appreciate you and want to come back, you must make them good deals.
Gathering the contact details of people interested in your kind of product, whether they be names and emails of people who have purchased from you or who are viewing your auctions, is incredibly valuable.
They are probably going to buy this kind of product again soon if they are using eBay ® to buy anything "like" the things you sell. If you provide them with helpful advice, exclusive deals, and ongoing communication, there's a good probability they'll come to you first when making their next purchase.
